Do I need to install anything?
No. RouteIQ Pro runs entirely in the browser — Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox on any device. Drivers use it on bus tablets the same way.
How does billing work?
You subscribe monthly at $1,500/location via PayPal when you sign up. Cancel anytime through your PayPal account — your access continues through the end of the billing period.
Is the $1,500 per driver or per location?
Per location (depot, yard, or terminal). One monthly fee covers unlimited drivers and unlimited routes for that location.
How do drivers log in?
Drivers use a 4–6 digit PIN you assign them. They tap it on the login screen and their assigned routes appear — no email or password needed on the bus tablet.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Data is cached locally so drivers can still view their route if connectivity drops mid-run. Changes sync to the cloud when the connection is restored.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — cancel your PayPal subscription at any time. Your access continues through the end of the billing period, no penalties.
How do GPS fleet integrations work?
Connect your Samsara (or compatible) account by entering your API key in Settings. RouteIQ pulls live vehicle positions every 10 seconds and plots them on your Drive Map as pulsing dots with speed and heading. Your credentials are stored encrypted server-side — never exposed to the browser.
Is RouteIQ Pro built for private school bus contractors?
Yes. RouteIQ Pro is purpose-built for private bus contractors — companies like regional operators that hold transportation contracts with one or more school districts. It handles multi-route operations, driver PIN logins on bus tablets, trip sheet printing for contract documentation, per-route cost estimating, and live GPS via Samsara. Each depot or yard gets its own subscription covering unlimited drivers and routes.
Can school district transportation departments use it?
Absolutely. District transportation directors and fleet managers use RouteIQ Pro to plan routes, track buses live, schedule drivers, and print trip sheets — all without installing software or involving IT. It runs in the browser on any device, including the tablets already on your buses.
Does it support multiple yards or terminals?
Yes. Contractors with multiple depots, yards, or terminals subscribe per location. Each location runs independently with its own routes, drivers, and daily schedule — ideal for regional operators managing several district contracts out of different facilities.
Can it help us estimate costs when bidding on contracts?
Yes — and it’s one of the features contractors use most. The built-in Route Cost Estimator calculates per-route operating cost using your actual fuel rate, driver hourly wage, and miles driven. Run it before you submit a bid to know your floor, or after a contract starts to track whether each route is running at the margin you expected.
Can I manage my account and billing myself?
Yes. The My Account portal lets you update your profile, change your password, view and download invoices, manage your signed agreements, and update billing — all without contacting support.
Does it know about schools in my area?
Yes — over 10,600 public schools across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware are built directly into the stop search. Type any school name and get the full address, city, and GPS coordinates instantly. No internet call needed, no API quota, no delay — results appear in under 2ms from an on-device index.
Does the school search work offline?
Yes. The school directory is cached locally on first load (under 700 KB total). Once loaded it works completely offline — ideal for dispatchers and planners building routes from a bus yard or location without reliable Wi-Fi.
Can RouteIQ Pro handle charter trips and field trips, not just daily routes?
Yes. Beyond daily AM/PM/MID routes, RouteIQ Pro includes a full charter trip booking system — build a multi-stop itinerary with unlimited pickups and destinations, assign a vehicle and driver, and the price calculates automatically from hours, mileage, and your fuel rate. Print a client-ready quote, then bill the client once the trip is complete.
Can I invoice schools or clients for trips directly from RouteIQ Pro?
Yes. Once a charter trip is marked complete, you can bill it to the client — combine several trips onto one invoice, track which invoices are paid versus outstanding, and print a professional invoice with your company’s letterhead, all without leaving RouteIQ Pro.
